A vial containing a sample of the Teen Spirit emitted during the filming of the music video for Nirvana’s 1991 single “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. Not only was the track culturally defining, but so was its music video, which depicted the band performing at a chaotic and anarchic high school pep rally.

The moshing teenagers featured in the video induced Teen Spirit, a metaphysical phenomenon arising from the volatile reaction between adult authority and juvenile rebellion. This vial originates from a crew member who worked on the music video. Upon returning home after filming, the crew member wrung out their flannel shirt, which had absorbed the Teen Spirit, and poured the liquid directly into this vial. The Teen Spirit is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from this crew member.

The sample possesses an intensely odious scent evocative of sweat, greasy hair, insecurity, and anger.

WARNING: Ingestion of this liquid will prevent growing up and result in a seriously bad attitude.
