A Shaun stop-motion puppet from Matthew Walker and Steve Cox’s upcoming sequel Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom. When the Farmer accidentally ruins Mossy Bottom Farm’s pumpkin patch on Halloween, Shaun sets out to save the celebrations with a spot of scientific experimentation. As is so often the case, his good intentions go awry, unleashing a mysterious beast from the surrounding woodland.
First appearing in Nick Park’s 1995 Wallace & Gromit short A Close Shave—which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film, one of the director’s four Oscars—Shaun soon proved he was more than a supporting sheep. Since receiving his own spin-off series in 2007, he has become one of Aardman’s most beloved creations, with the series still delighting audiences today and a third feature film set to arrive later in 2026. Not baaa-d for a franchise in which no one has ever spoken a word.
Shaun is crafted around a rigid foam core and dressed in a stiffened fleece fabric. His head is sculpted from Plasticine, with plastic eyes and clay eyebrows, while his ears and limbs are made from silicone to facilitate smooth repositioning by the animators.
Shaun contains a metal wire armature with ball-and-socket joints and comes displayed on a wooden base.
