A Feathers McGraw stop-motion puppet from Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham’s Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl. From his prison cell, Feathers McGraw manipulated the smart gnomes in an elaborate scheme to frame Wallace for his own crimes, taking revenge on the cheese-loving inventor for the part he played in putting the world’s most sinister penguin behind bars.
When four-time Academy Award winner Nick Park designed and created Feathers McGraw, he unleashed the Devil upon the world. A Devil, not crowned by two red horns, but four red rubber fingers. The Simpsons creator Matt Groening described Feathers McGraw’s debut appearance in 1993’s The Wrong Trousers as “Hitchcockian”, and after 30 years, the little tyke returned with revenge on his mind.
The latest chapter in Aardman’s beloved Wallace & Gromit franchise, Vengeance Most Fowl, was met with widespread critical acclaim, earning numerous awards and nominations while delighting audiences with the return of one of animation’s most memorable villains. The film continued Aardman’s tradition of inventive storytelling, meticulous craftsmanship, and distinctly British humour that has made Wallace & Gromit a global favourite for more than three decades.
Feathers McGraw’s body, including his wicked flippers, is made of clay, crafted over a fully jointed internal metal armature. The red glove he famously wears as a remarkably effective disguise — one that somehow seems to fool Wallace every time — is made of silicone. His eyes are glass pins, while his beak is fast-cast resin. The tea-stained mug he grips is resin. He comes displayed on a wooden base.
Despite his criminal past, Feathers is in excellent condition.
